What started as a call on 14th feb 2023 for rescuing a rock python trapped in a well in Kemmannu, Udupi, turned into a 4 hour long mission, with the aid of the forest department.
This rescue is somewhere among the top of the most adventurous rescues we have done so far!
The pictures that were initially sent before reaching the rescue site were deceptive, as only once we reached the rescue site and saw the 40 feet well, the gravity of the situation dawned upon us.
There was no way the Python could climb back again to the top, if left there for a few more days, it would probably not make it. Hence it was do or die, for the snake, and for us!
With quick assistance from the localities, and the forest department, with the help of a rope, a pulley and a cradle, the rescue was done!
It’s extremely satisfying to know we have just saved a life!
