We received an urgent call reporting a python entangled in a ghost net, a situation that could easily have turned deadly. Rushing to the scene, we found the snake abandoned, still ensnared in the net, cruelly left behind by someone who had fled. We searched the area, hoping to find the person responsible, but they had vanished without a trace.
Undeterred, we immediately began the delicate process of freeing the python. Each movement was calculated, as we carefully cut away the tangled netting, making sure not to worsen the situation. It was a tense operation, knowing that any wrong move could cause further harm to the already distressed snake. But, with patience and precision, we finally succeeded in liberating the python from its dangerous predicament.
After ensuring it was free, we conducted a thorough inspection for any injuries. Thankfully, the python appeared to be in good health, a remarkable outcome given the circumstances. We carefully bagged the snake, preparing it for transport. In a final act of relief, we released the python back into a nearby safe and suitable habitat, watching as it slithered away into freedom.
This incident highlights the serious and often overlooked threat posed by ghost nets.
